Tolerance

We treat each other with such disdain,

Our insecurities running amiss.

These words of hate cause the youth so much pain.

We would rather judge and be stuck in an abyss,

Than be who we are and accept the differences.

We all feel the same agony inside,

Struggling with our self-identities without any witnesses.

If only we could open our eyes

To a world full of tolerance.

We could discover the love in our hearts

That craves to break our silence.

Saying it in words is only one of the major parts

Necessary to alter the manner in which we behave.

We must act to fight the hate,

Standing up for others is incredibly brave.

For change to come, we cannot wait.

For those who wait, miss the moment.

In order to accomplish great improvement,

We must band together, joining as one.
