Trees

I stand alone in the shadow of a great pine.

How simple it woud be to step out from the

Shadows and immerse myself in the brilliant sunshine?

To feel alive.

But, oh, how vulnerable I would become if I let the rays

Seep down into the surface of my soul,

to be exposed.

It is easier to hide than it is to seek, and so

I stand alone in the shadow of a great pine.
