Victimized
Words, a unit of language we often misinterpret to taint an individual
Tearing someone’s self esteem down like bob the builder at a construction site
And it isn’t right, saying things to hurt someone so bad, you’re not forgivable
Walk all over someone like they're nothing, maybe to the point where they feel invisible
We’ve always been told, “Treat someone how you would want to be treated.”
But has respect been altered to where it isn’t a reciprocal
I wonder though, why we care to entertain the negativity posted on a social sites
Leading to heated arguments and pointless fights
All because I took a picture and posted it, and you felt the need to comment under it
Share your opinion that was full of ,
uncultured phrases your momma never rose you up saying
Displaying an act of bullying online that has never seemed to be okay
But it’s all fun and games until victim stops breathing
And their lives quickly come to a halt
they shouted out for help but it was silenced to the public like a deaf person, you couldn’t hear it
Victim after victim is left to fear it but sooner or later we become blind to the effects of bullying
Victims have faith that bullies get sick and tired of electronically degrading behind a computer screen
And Faith finally answered my prayers because the bully scrolled down his timeline and found another hopeless Victim that he could look down on in his favor
Like he favors his words as a weapon, I hold my pen as my shield
Crossing out any flaws, I create myself
Crossing out the negative comments, I protect myself
Crossing out the opinions of others that are posted and left undeleted, I Carry myself
My pen is my hope
That maybe one day the words those use to bully will evolve into words written on paper
To uplift, to cherish not to bring down or be relentless
My pen has drew my eyes to see beyond what others have depicted me as
Now Victims, Open your eyes and realize you are not the words they use to hurt you or the expectations in Which society wants to see you. You are you, simply beautiful.
