Waves

I love you in waves

Your voice is sun kissed, brushing reassurances into my long burned flesh as you soothe my sting. I see you in shades of blue, marked by the turquoise of your iris and the sadness in your smile. You laugh in foam, bubbles escaping your desperately clamped lips as you look at me like I'm something new.

My skies answer your seas, angry clouds recoiling to bare peaceful blue and rays of gold. Wings and feathers fall onto your turmoil, flocks of calm surround your hatred and ceaseless storms. My hurt feeds your anger, droplets pattering against harsh skin in endless tandem.

Without me, you have no purpose; and without you, I have no power. And without your chaos and your strain, I would not be elated.

I see you in love, and I love you in waves
