When I Wish

When I wish upon a star

I dream of something far

Up above, beyond my dreams

More extreme that it seems

I wish for small things

Not fancy rings

or candied things

I wish for peace

And prosperity

I wish for silence for those who don't have a voice to speak up

I wish on a little star for so many things

But none of them are like fancy rings 

I wish for bullying to stop

I wish for my dream to reach the top

I wish for discrimination to end

I wish I could give a dream to lend

To those who can't dream

Or wish on a star 

But I also wish they could wish on the very same star

I wish on every night

The one to the left of the moon

The one that shines oh-so bright
