You

You smile, hiding that internal pressure slowly killing every inch of your body.

You laugh, hoping no one saw that broken heart of yours.

You dance, wishing no one ever realizes your ribs are slowly collapsing.

You sing, making sure that the person next to you didn’t hear your brain explode.

You eat, attempting to not make your teeth to make any noises as they shatter.

You sleep, reassuring yourself no one saw the broken side of you.

Poetry has been my escape ever since I could remember. Every time I think of what to say or write, my throat has a seal that is broken free from strangulation. Words tend to sporadically slip out of my mouth and I have the pure enjoyment of writing them down.
