“Lies in the Mist”
What has happened to the days of truth?
When one could trust their neighbor, their family, a friend
Everywhere I look trying to see through the mist, the fog that hides our true intentions
Mind racing I look to those I trust, but I am alone
The fog, the mist, it has many names: doubt, disbelief, lonliness, fear
All that matters is it's suffocating, taunting me to give into the doubt
The doubt that I’m not pretty enough, smart enough, and that my friends are truly my friends
But as I sit there scared, I realize I’m not alone because I have a friend
A friend in Jesus, in God
Never has he left my side because he is my truth, my rock as I fall
For when all trust him to guide us through the mist, we will see each other and praise him as neighbors, as friends, as a true family of Christ
That is the truth
