Forgotten and Remembered

March 13, 2016

The tsunami hit at 11 today,

by 12 everyone knew,

by 2 help was there with cameras filming,

by 4 people had cried their faux tears,

by 6 news was up online,

by 8 calls were made only to be cut short,

by 10 cards were sent with $1 hearts,

and by 12 all was forgotten.

The volcano erupted at 11 today,

by 12 hundreds had died,

by 2 thousands were suffocating,

by 4 the wails of families echoed through the island,

by 6 the cries simmered down to sniffles,

by 8 people cleaned the ashes of the volcano and the dead,

by 10 flowers were laid with tearful farewells,

and by 12 all was remembered.
