Do-Over

June 12, 2013
If I could get one “do over” in life, I would have made a smarter choice. Instead of blending in with the crowd, I would have let them hear my voice. I would have stood up for her when no one else did, I would have pulled her out of that corner every time she hid. If I could do just one thing over, I would have been on her side. I would have been a good friend; I would have pushed aside my pride. She would have called me when I was needed and I would always be there, a shoulder to cry on or just someone to care. I’ve learned a huge lesson, now I understand. I could have helped a fellow classmate with an outstretched hand. An offer of friendship could have saved her youthful years; it could have provided great memories instead of the river of tears. If this “do over” was possible, I would have been a better person. I would have made an impact on her life, of this I am certain. I’m sure she’s well now, even without my assistance. I just wish I would have helped instead of watching from a distance.
