Savior

January 21, 2015

He keeps his head down

as he walks down the hall.

Looking up, he spots them.

He stops.

They see him and approach him.

His brain yells at him to run,

but his legs canno move.

One.

His glasses fall to the floor.

Two.

Blood runs from his lips.

Three.

His ribs ae stomped.

The hallway seems darker,

blurrier.

He loses count.

The world begins to slowly fade

into nothingness.

They stop.

He lies crippled on the ground.

Warm, gentle hands raise

him slowly.

He is handed his broken glasses.

He canot see who is helping,

but their voice is reassuring.

His vision turns black and he falls limp.

Warm, gentle arms carry him to safety.
