Knowledge is Power

June 28, 2019
When did life become this way?

It seems as if my life has paused
With no reason for a cause
I see no incentive to go on
My goals as still as a pond

I see no light in the day
No flourish of creativity
Giving me my right of way
No serendipity

Oh how I wish to know less
Yet how I wished to progress
How I wish to understand less
When my life became a tangled mess

And so I live chained to this creed
Never to be freed:
With age comes knowledge
And knowledge, a pledge
To embody responsibility
To the best of your ability

Yet they say it is a part of my journey
That it is but the pretext to my revelry
If this is true, then I would set things right
Regardless of my plight

I would take my contrition
And turn it into many a notion
Bursting with creativity
All the more for productivity

I would take my buried pride
And create a life worth the ride
With this fresh, young life
And create one worth the price

So that when the time comes,
I will set myself free
With this daring creed:
With age comes knowledge,
And knowledge,
Power
