The Elephant in the Room

There once was a homecoming game

Whose affiliation I wish to declaim

It made us all squirm

for it starred a pachyderm.

And my high school's rep became lame.

Students asked "did this really fit the budget?"

Is the school board's brain a peanut nugget

for an elephant  at half time

is a most extravagant past time

And subjected us to global ridicule and judgment.

So I implore to our school's shot callers

When you ponder a way to spend our dollars

don't solicit an elephant

for we won't look intelligent

instead give it all to our school volley ballers.
