Inner Depths
My head’s underwater
Hissing salt and white noise
An ocean veneer distorted
Bruised heart’s asunder
A quiescent catharsis
It’s the epitome
Of a shipwrecked masterpiece
In a hollow of nothing
I sink with the weight of incessant thought
Fear, you black-hearted paroxysm
Evanescing my colors in your gray
You scrape away my former glory
Contours of shadow disguise the sunlight surface
I’ve become my purgatory
