The Winning Fish

I am the fish you won at the fair a week ago

Do you remember the joy and love you had for me on the first day?

How about the bright smile that shined on your face?

O how you rushed to the pet store to buy me a new house

My lovely castle and colorful pink, red, and orange neon rocks

It was so funny when I jumped out and all the water splashed everywhere

Did you remember to feed the fish? Your mother said

As my life flashes remembering all that you forget

Forgiving all the pain you gave me

As I go down the drain

I was the winning fish but all that I won was a broken heart
