This is a short film I began in 2016 and finished in 2017 about the experiences of African-American individuals in my school community as well as my journey thus far in the United States coming from a Nigerian household and entering a nation that is at war with its own citizens and their rights as individuals. Despite that reality, my film also depicts that the experiences we have as black people are not only challenges but triumphs, as they resonate within and around us a sense of community, soul, beauty, and resilience.
