12 years in the blink of an eye

Location

On this day, at this moment, time stands still.

But stop and think, all the time we've killed.

Shut your eyes, travel back with me now, your first day of school.

Do you remmeber how;

how you felt, what you saw, the struggles of it all.

12 years ago now, it seems way to long.

Fast forward now 6 years ahead. That awkward year of life;

the transition to teen from kid. Pimples, braces, clumsy, and shy;

guys crushing on girls but they know not why.

The nervouseness, the awkward, but dont worry young one,

it'll all get better in years when puberty is done.

Three more years ahead now, but still three years ago,

appraoching the new, mysterious building nothing yet you know.

As freshmen we started, insecure, anxious, and excited.

Not knowing yet what this building was hiding.

A whole new family, one not understood from the outside.

Together we banded as peers in one class,

we overcame eleven years of school, we made it at last.

Senior year is here, last one to go,

but knowing what i do now, I would say take it slow.

The years fly by, in the blink of an eye.

Twelve years of life have gone by,

dont waster your time my friends on things that one day will not mind.

Everyone knows, fads come and fads go,

but make the most of your time with the ones you've come to know.

Time is precious in itself, invaluable,

infinitately more  than anyone's wealth.

Don't waste it or schluff it,

Its gone before you know it.
