She usually doesn’t make sense on the first impression
You must dig a little deeper
Let me explain
You see, it is a never ending struggle
A tug of war between okay and not
A hundred year war she has to endure for the rest of her life
A storm like the one on Jupiter’s surface inside her head
Will it ever end?
It goes kind of like this
“Bi” meaning two
“Polar” meaning having or relating to two poles or extremities
This is who she is
A cast out
A task on the to do list of procrastinator
She never gets on the page
She is the walking proof of the adage tomorrow will suffice
She is the scars the people in this life have given her
It goes kind of like this
“Mis” meaning ill, mistaken, and wrong
“Understood” meaning to perceive the intended meaning of
This is who she is
But I see beyond the imperfections and insecurities
I look between the cracks and beneath the surface
I see your heart
I see your veins pumping blood into your brain
That is doing you so wrong
But I listen to your heartbeat
And it pounds sound waves in my ears
Tears form in the pits of your eyes
Don’t cry, let me sing you a song I say
You say it sounds familiar, it sounds beautiful
It’s because beauty isn’t what they see
Beauty is what is inside of you
It goes kind of like this
“Beauty” meaning having the qualities that pleases moral sense
You are beautiful
This is who she is
You have your flaws
But when love calls know I’ve already been waiting for you
You aren’t perfect
But none of us are and that’s okay
I’m just patiently but anxiously waiting for that day
When I can stare into the eye of your storm and say, I love you
Our wedding day will be in the calm of the storm
The rain will cease and rainbows of my promises will appear
Fear is mandatory for a story to be real
We are all afraid sometimes
Just like when I was searching for you
I fell in love with no strings attached
But I had this rope around my neck
But on the way down I found you
You cut me loose from my noose
We played duck, duck, goose
I was a storm chaser
You struck me like lightning
You blew me away
I love the smell of your rain
But I’ll catch your tears
For years I wanted to fall in love
I’ve prayed to my God above
Yes, no, maybe so
It goes kind of like this
“Love” is indescribable
She is indescribable
This is who she is
She is love…

The ending of this poem flows really well. It's a creative and really touching ending.
This poem also reminds me of spoken word and performance poetry
(especially when you define things-
"“Bi” meaning two
“Polar” meaning having or relating to two poles or extremities
This is who she is"
That sounds just like slam poetry! Personally, the way you define things
is one of the most creative aspects of the piece to me. My only poetry tip would be,
sometimes, you can consider switching up the way you organize your lines if you want.
It's tempting to end lines when you would normally take a pause when
speaking. It's also tempting to end lines depending on how your thinking at a particular moment.
However, you can also end or start a line depending upon what you feel
are the most important lines, most powerful words/or messages. You can use the
starting and ending of lines to emphasize
what aspect of the poem is most important to you. That's just a suggestion.
I really enjoyed the poem either way but, that's something I focus on in my own
writing. I hope that makes sense.
Thanks for sharing this poem.
It's great.
