Actress

I am an actress
I’m a professional at pretending
I make a living out of lying
I wear the masks of others
So you can be entertained
And you’ll only ever know me
As the characters I portray
I’ll never tell you who I really am
Because no one really cares
They only want the show
And entertainment that I share
To all the crowds that only see
The parts of me they want
To believe
She’s happy and loving
She’s really quite amazing
But she’s also crying
And she’s sick of lying
And no one will listen to her
Because she’s an actress
And she always pretends
And she always smiles
And never bends
To pressure or stress
Or a ‘prettier’ dress
She’s always fine
Because she lies
She’s a genuine actress
