Alone and Afraid

The icy touch of fear travels through my spine

Thoughts of what is to come eats away at my bones

A monster rips apart my skin like paper with teeth like daggers

I hold a snow globe filled with blood and regret

The poisonous words of those around me attack my heart

I fire at them with sweet vengeance.

A lace of fabric wraps around my throat and tightens

My breath loses consistency as I claw at the invisible beasts around me

Nobody is here to help, but everyone is there to hurt

Christmas lights are shattered all around me

I hope for anything, but all I get is the decay of my own body

The air around me tastes of death

A serpent made of toys consumes my childhood

I forget my feelings and return to where I came from

I begin to hope for the worst

A flood of emotionless soil is all I want to be

Only a miracle can save me now
