America
My teammates and I neal during the playing of the Star Spangles Banner.
Not to disrespect those who fought for us and risked their lives,
but to make it known that we can't stand for a country that
claims it's the land of the free yet my black brothers and sisters are continuously
killed by those who take such "pride" in America.
I see free as being able to live without getting shot or, for my Muslim friends,
free from fear of being tortured.
I can't be the only one who sees what I see.
This poem is about:
My community
My country
