The Anthem of Tomorrow

Tomorrow is a dream.

We invented time, you know.

We crafted tomorrow in

the forges of our imagination.

We needed it to carry on.

Since the beginning

we have needed hope.

Hope that the next 24 hours

could somehow be

a brand new start.

That the rest of our lives

truly did begin

the moment we arose.

And even though we know the truth

Lying's a small price to pay

To believe that we can finally

Begin again tomorrow.

Or, that's what I thought

then.

But now...

Now I am beginning to see

that even though

the past won't flee

that we can't undo

everything-

we can start again

we do begin again

every moment.

I appreciate that the sentences are short, it gives the move a click, clack movement like a horse. A revolutionary horse! I particularly like the line: "That the rest of our lives

truly did begin

the moment we arose"

I imagine a rose unfurling, because of the similarity of the word arose, and a rose. Keep it up!
