Anxiety

Location

The brain waves in my mind are like an ocean

during a tsunami

Big and ceaseless, powerful.

Neurons connecting too fast

Mind racing

Heart speeding

Sweaty palms

Too many connections

Never keeping up

Incoherent words

Short-lived ideas

unfinished thoughts

Forming sloppy handwriting

Scribbles on pages

unfinished poetry

Falling behind into the shadows of other people

hiding in the dark

too afraid to speak the words my jumbled mind forms

Anxiety Anxiety Anxiety

coffee stained lips and words on pages

are the only way my mind can focus

and allow me a form of relaxation

Like the ocean after a storm;

Calm, quiet,

Tired.
