Baby

A baby is a father’s pride,

A mother is a baby’s guide.

A smile or two is worth the fuss.

Yeah, even when you want to cuss.

So fat and chubby, like the rest.

And when they giggle, it’s the best.

That sound brings music to my ears.

Until they scream and shed some tears.

Then stinky comes, the diaper goes.

And, Oh, the smell, it hurts my nose.

But when I’ve done a few or more,

It doesn’t seem as much a chore.

It seems more like a duty here,

And not a sense of dread and fear.

And now the baby’s smiles begin,

At last, the bliss of joy again.
