To Be A Dreamer
He closes his eyes just for a minute,
And runs to a place where his troubles end:
A wondrous world—he’s free to explore it—
In which human confinements break and bend.
Further along when he meets the locals,
They instantly realize he’s different;
Wanting to learn their traditions and morals,
His spoken words line-up with what he meant.
Others, however, don’t share his ideas.
The authorities have selfish motives—
Forsaking this new world for their own bliss:
In this nightmare place, no one cares who lives.
But this can all be just a dream for Jake,
For he’s a dreamer and dreamers must wake.
