To Be An Eagle

Could I but soar unbounded

As does the great Eagle Bald

And reach immeasurable heights

And No one has called

And tease all Day with my offspring

And feast as I may

And nest in every region

Or instead, fly away

With no falconers in pursuit

Or once they are ready to glide

Till they become fledgelings

To get away with me

I said “But just to be a great Eagle”

Upon a gust of wind

And rise above clouds until the sun sets

And liftoff individually

What Liberty! So Bees deem

Who in compact hives reside.
