Beautiful

Beautiful, that's what her mom said she was.

Beautiful, that's what the world said she lacked.

Beautiful, that was the person she wanted to be.

She would stare at herself for countless hours judging and trying to perfect the flaws

that everyone seemed to point out.

Day by day she would get up and look into the mirror to see if my some miracle her

thighs would thin, her smile would straighten, her skin lighten and that she would gain

the confidence that everyone told her she didn't have.

She was young but her soul lived long, carrying the burden of her mother and women

before her; trying to perfect an image that mankind had created an image that doesn't

exist.

How could she ever truly see the beauty of the world when she herself could not see

the very masterpiece that God created within her.

She loved God yet could not love herself, when she is the very reflection of the most

perfect himself.

She needed to let go of what the world had to say because the truth is, she is perfect

in each and every way.

She is strong, she is smart, her flaws are pure beauty.

She had to learn to love herself for who she was; For her heart, for her mind, for her

soul, to break the chains from a superficial world.

Till' the day finally came when she looked into the mirror to see the perfect and

most beautiful creation was she..

Beautiful. Was Always Me.
