Beautiful Poison

Location

Wings flashing like the haste of eyelashes

But wandering around with peaceful ease.

The butterfly snares my eye but flashes

Quickly away not stopping its journeys.

The summer welcomes it with open sweet

Arms. Roses blossom ready with the wine.

It comes with innocence for pleasant heat

And spots the rose to get ready to dine

Oh dear butterfly do you love that rose?

Oh but are you even worthy of it?

That poison that you hide, will you expose?

It is concealed in that orange outfit.

Oh you beautiful monarch butterfly

Who would realize that you were so sly?
