Because I Love You, I Love You

Tue, 10/24/2017 - 19:36 -- locke_t

Because I love you, I hear your cries

And I use myself to dry your eyes

Because I love you, I make you laugh

Circumspectly leading you down the most joyous path

Because I love you, I let you sing

I’m content with the feeling your voice brings

Because I love you, I experience your pain

And I’m there to provide your strength again

Because I love you, I strive when you’re around

Your presence itself, is profound

Because I love you, I treat you with respect

That is what you deserve, so that is what you get

But because I love you, is why I scold

It’s your trust in me, that makes me bold

Because I love you, I fight for you to do better

And because I love you, we can do that together

Because I love you, I tell you the truth

It may hurt, but I’m never uncouth

Because I love you, I anticipate your smile

And it concerns me when it has been absent a while

Because I love you, I can’t explain how much

My love isn’t tangible

So my words can’t be enough

And it doesn’t matter if you forget with the renewing of each day

Because I love you, I will remind you in every way
