Behind The Straight Face

Me, dirty, germ infested me

I’m called that every day and cry, but no one every sees

On the roof the birds stare at me with their black pearl beady eyes

They dare me to jump and I’m ready to say my good byes

Left foot slightly moves forward making me sweat

But I’m ready for this, don’t say I’m not, don’t make any bets

I lean forward while hearing the police sirens ring below my ears

I need to jump and man! The memories are back from my long, past, years!

I’m feeling little tipsy now and ready to jump from this edge

Here I go…

One…

Two…

Three…

I just threw up instead over this hanging ledge

I’m still up here and now ready to jump

Hope my classmates see my dead body and regret their hall way bumps

Taking a deep breath and clenching my fist

This reminds of the time my classmates made me want to cut my wrist

Thanks for making fun of my long grown greasy hair

It’s not my fault I have no money, I don’t need your stares

I can’t forget you slamming me in the locker with a big white smile

Did I deserve your lies? No! You didn’t need to spread I look like a pedophile

Did you ever stop to notice my beauty on the inside?

No, instead you had to take a tour on the I’m a Bully Ride

I look down at my hands and notice they are trembling

And I think my teeth are slowly shattering

Remember those words your mom tried to make you see

Sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt me

Well, your words cut me real deep

That nursery rhyme is a lie, see where it got me

Maybe me killing myself will finally let you see

That the anti-bullying signs in school actually meant a lot to me
