Beyond

There is life beyond the grave,

And death that lives in life.

Enshrouded in a tomb of our own making;

What is life when seen through a veil?

These scars are our coffins,

Burying us deep within,

Keeping us from the land of the living,

            Which we fear.

There is death that lives in life,

But there is life that springs from death.

The veil falls away,

And light surrounds us.

The coffin is broken, scars

Fading away until all that is left

            Is warmth.

There is life from death,

And death in life.

In embracing one,

We find the other, for

There is death in life, but

There is life beyond the grave.
