Big and Beautiful

Someone told me once, "though you're big, you're beautiful".

Was it my mom, a teacher, or some Disney Channel musical?

Some Sunday school bullshit they fed me to keep my head up.

The Reality's much uglier, that's just some pretty makeup.

The models, the pop stars, and the all too perfect ingenue

They imply you can look just like them with this new latest breakthrough

"Try eating like this", "dressing this way", "don't worry, you're changeable".

One little detail they forget to mention: this kind of beauty is unattainable.

So, you buy into it, you starve, and then you learn to hate yourself

Because no one ever taught you that you've got to love yourself.

Live and let live, have fun, and learn something.

You owe it to yourself because the world owes you nothing.
