Big Brother Be Strong

The wind outside was howling,

The furious storm was rising,

But Little One found shelter better than any other

In the strength of her big brother.

His love always brought her hope

Even when she felt she couldn’t cope

With the hatred of the world any longer

Because her big brother was stronger.

He protected her from the beast

Who prepared and dressed her for its feast,

And when she thought she was wrong to fight,

Her big brother conquered darkness with the light.

And when he’d cleaned his bloody weapon,

The malice vanquished, the victory won,

He looked down at her and on his heart he swore,

“Little One, you’re worth fighting for.”

She no longer fears monsters hiding

Or evils black, because white colliding

Frees her while she cheers him on,

“Big brother be strong!”
