Black in Amerikkka

Mon, 06/08/2020 - 15:31 -- AN7879

Our dark skin is a threat Front row for racial scrutiny Suffered losses left and right within the black community We fear for safety desperately We march. We protest. We fight. Every hazy day’s a challenge To a black man every night. “All lives matter!!!” Really, how? Contradicting to what we’ve seen What other race have you ever heard SCREAMING, “I can’t breathe!” We aren’t thugs, or animals. Publicizing years of strife No badge on Earth gives you authority to take another’s life And that’s facts. No you can’t relate. Nor try to sympathize Because the problem isn’t your own Let’s be honest You have no idea what it’s like wondering if you’re going to make it home You can go for a jog in your neighborhood Or hit corner stores in town You have the privilege of being you without being shot down We are nervous around policemen “This is America The Land of The Free” We still lack civil rights In a country built from slavery We are tired. ..... and almost broken Our society has yet to heal You’re either with us Or against us That’s your choice But do not ever tell us how to feel
