The caged birds songs

For the caged bird

sings of freedom.

The caged bird sings

to hear his own songs.

For in all the twitter and tweets,'

and cries and screams,

the caged bird sings

to hear the song of freedom

that it shall never know.

The caged bird has no use for words

or shouts of anger and sobs of terror.

The caged bird only needs its song.

Through bars and glass,

the caged bird sings its song

and the caged bird and I,

we sing together,

because we are not free

in mind and soul

but together we are free in song.
