A City On A Hill

Darkness slides around my thoughts

Surrounds my bravery

Ties down my mind

Buries my hope

My soul searches to rescue me

Lights a flame within my heart

Ignites passion through my veins that burns through the night

Only by light am I saved

To myself I must die for freedom to reign

As truth wraps it's warm hands around my frozen bones

As a new song floods the muscles that once were weak

As the dawn replaces the black of the night

Victory screams in my ear

Life crawls inside me the way a wave surges over the sand

A vacant body restored by a breath of renewal

Darkness broken

By the light of the day

Shine

I am the light of the world
