Color

Imagine;

A world without color

Life is simple

No need to match your shoes to your shirt

You don’t need to paint the walls of your home

No decision of which color car to buy

We all have the same color clothes, houses, and cars,

They are all perfectly white; light as can be

Planet Earth is covered in bleach

There is no disappointment at the end of the rainbow,

because after all, rainbows do not exist.

The sun never sets, our lives are always filled with light

There is no red light telling us to stop,

We are free to continue along our long and colorless adventures,

Identical to everyone around us.

There is something beautiful about a uniform world,

Where everyone and everything is consistent

Everyone would be equal in a world with no color

But imagine;

A world without color

Children without crayons,

No uplifting blue skies or bright, yellow sun

We have never seen a gleaming star in the dark night sky

Red and pink roses do not exist

We do not know when summer turns to fall,

Because there are no colors for the leaves to change

The grass is never greener on the other side

There is no art, just blank pages,

screaming everything and nothing all at the same time

Life is still simple; it is also dull and boring

But we have been blessed with the allure of color

We see color everywhere we look

Without it, we are forced to imagine;

A world with color

A world where everything around us is different

We are all different

Color is more beautiful than a uniform world

Yet society refuses to accept colorful people

I do not want to live in a white world anymore

I want to see the green grass and the blue sky,

The colorful houses and cars,

I want to see art all over the world

Because the Earth is beautiful,

and color is spectacular.
