The Craft

In a verse I have discovered

A vessel of magic

A wand of wizardry

The purity of witchcraft.

Magician. Witch. Siren.

Bruja. All is true.

I found what it is to be a dragon

I hoard words and carefully

Placed sentences.

I have been taught intent

With punctuation—taught by ghosts,

Phantoms, spirits long past their

Time— how to, how to not

Use it. enjambment,

Emphasis by way of splitting

Apart but still reading as one.

I could tear a man to pieces

Use him to create the perfect

Scheme.

I could eat you up, and

Spit you out as stanzas.

This is what I have learned through poetry. This is a mixture of old poets, like Poe, Plath, and such, but also some New Age poets, Amanda Lovelace, Nikita Gill, and my own style. we learn to write by reading other writers, and experimenting with whatgg does and doesnt work for us.
