Date Night

I'm choking on the taste of rejection
And, oh, how I savor the sweetness
Enough to make a grown woman break into tears
But not me
I stand firm... untouched... unfeeling...
Do I love this
Ultimate loneliness
Emptiness
Another night of high hopes
Resulting in disappointment
For what?
Embarassment?
I'm laughing
How pitiful, disgusting
It's nothing more than I expected
Sickened by my worthlessness,
and then, by my absent mind.
What should I feel?
Nothing
Why should I feel?
My face burns,
Stings, from the crisp wind
As I walk alone
up to my bed
where my unconcious nightmares
mask an unrealized truth.
