A Daughter's Watchful Eye; The Person You Used to Be

We have arrived at only fighting on the phone,

It is hard to not feel alone.

I have tried as hard as I could to please you.

The friendship and laughter,

That is what I am going after.

Just know I'll miss the person you used to be.

And only who you used to be.

"Because I love you."

That will not work, it is true.

It will not work because of the words that follow.

Definite love and actual caring,

Is what we are no longer sharing.

Just know I'll miss the person you used to be.

And only who you used to be.
