This Day

I don’t need this one day

To tell the sun that it’s rays warmly comfort the drifting clouds

I don’t believe I need this one day

To tell the crisp blue I love the way it shimmers on the bay

I don’t think I need this very day

To tell the brilliant moon it gracefully kisses the night sky goodbye when it can no longer stay

I’m not so sure anymore if I need this very day

To tell you when a weakening star’s light begins to flicker and fade

I shed a tear and pray
