The day I saw you

Thu, 07/26/2018 - 18:55 -- ngopes

I stood alone,

right across narrow, winding street

of Maitidevi city.

You stood with your aunt,

alongside the road near the goddess temple,

where people 'd come and go.

 It was Saturday morning,

people gathered to offer prayers.

I was amid the crowd of devotees, and

You're facing me but your.

eyes directed past me, into a space,

I’d never know.

You wore a yellowish kurta,

a long tunic-like shirt, and a shawl

draped over your shoulders.

I noticed the bewildered look on your face

But you never knew of me that day

I was going to be there in the temple..
