Dear Bully

I am who I am

Nothing will change that, though people may try

So I must accept it, or things may go awry.

I am who I am

Some may call me chubby, or even say fat

But it shouldn’t matter, I’m stronger than that.

I am who I am

Some may say “Get braces, your smile looks weird”

But go ahead jeer; you’re not one to be feared.

I am who I am

Some may judge my race and the color of my face,

But sorry, can’t change it, and in any case,

I am who I am.

These things that they say cannot hold me down

I will shut my ears to the people around

I am who I am

Though the looks and the sneers and the stares may appear

Though I am who I look like when I look in the mirror

I am more who I am when you look inside here

I may be defined by my smile, stomach, and face

But I have many good points your words can’t replace

I am who I am

I’m a heart and a mind which swell like the sea

With confidence, kindness, and the peace just to be

So your hate cannot touch me you all must agree

You might not understand, but I love me for me

Cuz I am who I am

And that knowledge sets me free.

this is truly an astounding poem!! i cant say that i know exactly how you feel, because no one can feel the exact same no matter the situation. but i can certainly relate. its hard walking down the halls at school being the girl or guy that has the biggest size in jeans or close to it. its a tough thing to go through, all the names and things that are said to you. just keep your head up and turn the other cheek. smile and keep it there. you are an amazing person!
