Dear girl from class,I

Dear girl from class,

I promise not to take to long I just want to tell you a few things..
To the girl who cried in class today

when we talked about rape.

I'm sorry I didn’t get up and tell you, you weren’t alone.
I'm sorry you felt so vulnerable and relived it at that very moment.
I'm sorry I couldn’t do better.
I'm sorry you felt alone in a room full of people one of them being me,
a survivor like you.

To the girl in my classroom, I am sorry you are still haunted by this.
While this person goes on with their life not giving a damn about you..
To the girl in my class if you read this one day and want to talk I am here.
I was 6 the first time and 18 the second…
To the girl in my class, you will never be alone.

You are strong and you are free.
Rid yourself of the monster who haunts you.
To the girl in my class..
I am sorry.

Sincerely, Another girl like you
