Death's Defeat

Location

Death I do not fear, for he is certain.

What is to come, though, is ambiguous.

Could it be a new life to begin,

Or does everything turn into dust?

I fear not knowing what happens after

The life I have come to know is finished.

I fear what may happen does not bring laughter,

Death leaves in his wake my spirit diminished.

Perhaps after Death is not frightening,

My religion reels my rightful path.

I’m not scared, for my hope is brightening,

The worry in me has gone away fast.

What’s waiting for me will be astounding,

In my next life, clouds will be surrounding.
