Staring blankly at the map

It's night time, I should already have my nap

The moonlight shines over the state, New York City

As I lay in bed wishing with pity.

 

Late at night, oh the silly girl stayed up...

Thinking about the light that had lit up towards the horizon

She dreams a dream of a boy who has arisen

He has arisen a flame in her heart.

 

Aching for his love, from the sunniest state of all

home of the sweet oranges, and beautiful beaches

Where can he be? She believes..

 

One day, maybe someday 

she will awake , and for heavens sake

she will be near, oh she will hold him dear.

 

There he will stand, hold her by the hand

and whisper; Darling, I've waited for you,

for I have felt so blue, but i knew it was because

of you.

 

For now, I am complete, feeling every beat 

of your heart,  I never want to be apart.
