The Dream
They told us it could never be
That the men in white would never fade
That even though we had fought them back
Their price could not be paid
They told us it could never be
That the rift would never heal
That Kurds would fight us forever more
That peace could not be real
They told us it could never be
That the blood would always flow
Upon our beloved holy land
And down to those depths below
The glass ceilings were glass walls
The glass walls were crystal floors
Closed off from all that’s different
We would fight forevermore
But slowly as they had come before
Those walls came crumbling down
Like they had to form the holy land
Like they had to raise a German crown
We younger ones gave up the elder spite
Little piece by piece
Until there was nothing but tradition left
And from that we found release
First fellows of the same culture
Then brothers of same skin
The pure white robes faded into grey
For forgiveness began within
And as those colors merged with time
And the dream of love was taught
Until that dream was yours and mine
And old hatred was forgot
I won’t lie, there is fighting
For mankind is divided still
But the wretched evil has left our hearts
And with it our cause to kill
And we look back as you do now
And revile our brutal past
But know you this as we do now
The darkness cannot last
And that noble King who died
Upon that Memphis scene
Looked forth unto our modern pride
And said “by God a dream”

Dang. . . That was awesome. I miss the ORIGINAL kkk. Not the racist bastards but the community protection crew. The ones that stood for what was right, not what was white. Great poem, seriously.
