The End of the Heart's Quest

I close my eyes and I feel him close by

He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear

His presence makes me feel at ease

He tells me I’m safe and shouldn’t be afraid

I’ve never known such love and truth

I have never seen such loyalty and trust

I feel at home with him by my side

The doubt that once consumed me

Now only whispers here and there

I don’t feel that old sense of fear

But rather excitement at what’s to come

I never thought I could be happy

Never thought I find someone like him

But now that I have I’m not letting go

I’ll hold on tight and together grow old
