Equality

Mon, 10/29/2018 - 11:19 -- aila

People march for the right to stay alive

For the right to show pride

For the right to not be another statistic.

Respect for those,

For all those who have 46 or 47 chromosomes

For those who have fought and survived

For those who are missing parts but still thrive.

How many have to die out of hate before we stop and realize,

We are the problem choosing hate and prejudice

Over love and life.

When we stop and consider are actions we have the chance to make a choice

To prove that we can change if we stop and think

We can save a life, save a family from devastation

Hold the harsh words inside do not fire because of color

Do not kill out of fear or hate

Realise that it could have been you had you not fit society’s standards.
