Faith

Faith--an intrinsic part of my core

Shaped by the ones who preceded us

But is it right to believe them?

How can I ignore the constant ringing in my soul?

I feel the presence of something greater than I

Or am I blinded by the mosses of the guilt tree?

Am I a mere mortal whose existence is transient?

The fire wings that carry me.

“Abraham,” say the Jews

“Jesus,” say the Christians

“Muhammad,” say the Muslims

But where do I fall?

The world, a more confusing realm with their beings

A dove and a rainbow conjured up in my mind

Reminding me of beginnings and the promise of renewed life

But I ponder if any of this means salvation

Or if mankind's’ impudence disturbs the geometrical patterns of the world

If our ignorance stems from the unborn fruit of eve

but if she didn’t exist, then does ignorance?

Life may try to seek answers, but only death knows.
