Falcon Sparrows Snails & lettuce & men
The snails make way for the prickly lettuce
and dandelion feast. From a branch, perching—the
sparrows wait: —should we eat the snails
before, so as not to lose our meal, or wait and
gain the nutrients of their feast as well?
Higher up, the falcon circles overhead,
contemplating his identical maneuver on the
sparrow prey. A swoop and dive.
Little does the falcon know, men lay in
ambush—camouflaged—to catch and mount the splendor of the
dive. They think: —it is much
better to save the likeness of beauty, for it may
one day perish from this earth, how opportune,
this flying falcon, as a trophy gift for generations hence. Remembrance.
To obtain what is essential and required,
sustenance for the functions of the body,
with the intention of remaining, preserving, on the
verge of destitution if any other action were
taken, eternal white amplified. Obtaining what
the functions cease without, the misfortune of the fowl.
The beauty of the quiet lettuce and sallow
dandelion to the snail causes a craving that
makes the snail the food upon it feasts. The sparrows
understand their charming little chirp…chirp, chirp...the falcon it’s majesty,
aerial regality, soaring as the eye of heaven’s
gate, a guardian. Today, what luck to be favorable in the eyes of men who prey: to want
and obtain, the punishment of hunger. Hunger
for acquisition, hunger.
